When is verification required?

Verification is generally required for the highest post-secondary credential earned in each country. For example, if you earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in the same country, only the master’s degree typically needs to be verified. If the degrees were earned in different countries, verification may be required for each credential. Professional degrees must also be verified before the final evaluation can be released.

Verification is also required for most secondary school credentials issued in Vietnam, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and member countries of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

Certain universities, educational institutions, and professional licensure boards may have their own verification requirements. Applicants should review the requirements of the institution or board receiving the evaluation to determine whether additional verification is needed.
