What is document verification?

Document verification is the process of confirming that your academic documents are authentic and were legitimately issued by the institution or examination authority listed on them. This authentication may be required for admission to a U.S. educational institution, employment, professional licensure, or certification.

Documents can be verified by having the issuing institution send them directly to TEC through an official method. Applicants may also use TEC’s Document Verification Service, in which TEC contacts the institution to confirm the authenticity of the records. Document verification is separate from document retrieval, so applicants must still provide scanned copies of their official academic records with their application.
