Meet Susan Whipple<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Susan Whipple is a Senior Credential Analyst at The Evaluation Company, bringing decades of experience in international education, admissions, student advising, enrollment management, and credential evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before joining TEC, Susan spent more than two decades at Marquette University, where she served as an Assistant Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Throughout her career, Susan has supported international students, student-athletes, and professionals as they navigated the path to U.S. higher education. Her background has given her a strong appreciation for the role education plays in a person\u2019s identity and future opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Susan, credential evaluation is meaningful because it helps applicants have their education understood within the U.S. system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEach credential evaluation unlocks opportunities,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When an applicant moves to a new country, their academic background may not always be immediately recognized or understood. An evaluation can help institutions, employers, and licensing boards see the value of that education while helping applicants move forward with greater confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A Career Built on Curiosity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Susan\u2019s interest in international education began while she was a university student working in an admissions office. She enjoyed learning about education systems around the world and working alongside international students whose previous academic experiences were not always fully understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After graduate school, Susan worked with Malaysian students and professionals interested in studying in the United States through the Fulbright Commission and EducationUSA. That experience reinforced the importance of knowledgeable professionals who can help students access educational opportunities and navigate unfamiliar systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, Susan continues to enjoy researching credentials, education systems, and the policies that shape academic equivalencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAll credentials and systems are interesting,\u201d she says. \u201cI like seeing new credentials, learning about them, and learning about the education laws that determine their equivalencies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n A Meaningful Professional Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n One of Susan\u2019s most memorable professional experiences was attending her first TAICEP conference. She was struck by the credential evaluation community\u2019s commitment to supporting new evaluators, sharing knowledge, and assisting students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Susan is also proud of her work as Editor for NAFSA\u2019s Online Guide to Education Systems Around the World.
