Types of Expert Letters for Professional & Academic Evaluations:

Specialty Occupation Expert Letter

These letters discuss and establish the proffered position as a specialty occupation, as defined by USCIS as a position that requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in a specific field of study.

Work Experience Expert Letter

These letters are completed by University Professors who have the authority to grant credit for work experience and closely follow USCIS regulations. The letter can be based exclusively on work experience or on a combination of academic studies and work experience.

Specialty Occupation

These are comprehensive letters that simply discuss both the specialty occupation position and evaluate the individual’s work experience.

TN Expert Letter

These letters address a variety of TN/NAFTA-related issues. These letters discuss how a position properly falls under one of the NAFTA professions or how an individual is qualified for the profession.

L1A/B Expert Letter

L1A letters address the managerial or executive nature of foreign and/or US positions thereby establishing that the duties satisfy the requirements of USCIS for an Executive or Managerial position. L1B letters discuss the Specialized Knowledge of the company’s proprietary tools, processes, and/or methodologies including a discussion of an individual’s qualifying work experience at the company’s foreign office.

Business Necessity Expert Letter

These letters are for PERM Audit responses. They establish the “business necessity” for a position by demonstrating that the duties and requirements bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation in the context of the employer’s business, and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner.

EB1/O1 Extraordinary Ability Expert Letter

These letters establish an individual’s extraordinary ability through a discussion of his/her accomplishments and recognitions thereby demonstrating they meet USCIS’ requirements for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability.

National Interest Waiver Expert Letter
